Native Union 'Switch' bluetooth wireless portable speaker review...

Hi there readers!

Today I am reviewing the awesome 'Switch' bluetooth speaker by 'Native Union'.

In 2013, NATIVE UNION was the Winner of Good Design Award, the Gold Winner of A’Design Awards and the Winner of iLounge Best of Show at CES 2013, and I can see why!

At first glance it looks like a giant piece of Lego with the characteristic circle on the top (or side, depending on which way you rest it!) and its long slender building-block look. But looks are deceiving! This is by no means a cheaply made toy!

This brilliant little box features not only bluetooth connectivity, but it has a large capacity battery (1800mAh) which allows you to charge any device that uses a USB cable, and it'll charge them quickly too. It also boasts a full duplex microphone which allows you to use it as a conference call speaker, perfect for those company bosses who like style and purpose in the board room.
But, it isn't just for the board room....It's presence in any room is noticeable when you turn it on!
It sounds like a much larger system giving loudness and clarity unlike alot of other 'tinny' sounding speakers on the market.

The switch speaker has actually blown me away with its sound quality. For such a small speaker it packs a massive punch. It has a very stable and tonal depth to the bass it produces and that's thanks to the guys at Native Union installing an active subwoofer and a bass reflex system into the box of tricks! The treble is levelled out nicely to make it sound just lovely with the use of high performance acoustic drivers either side of the speaker compartment.

On the underside, it shows you 5 little LEDS to indicate the internal battery levels.
And whilst on the subject of batteries....The battery life figures of this speaker are amazing.
Audio play-back time is upto 14 hours!!!! that is ALOT of listening time.

I connected it to my Samsung Galaxy S4 and I was able to stop/start phones music control from the speaker. Pausing is made easy using the button within the swivel circle on top of the speaker. It will also answer calls, reject them and make use of voice activation through your connected device should it have it.

Again, I have to say I'm blown away by this little gadget, It is absolutely perfect for anyone who likes their tunes, gadgets, and stylish home trickery. I'm impressed by the amount of thought that has gone into this speaker. Being able to charge your phone whilst blasting the tunes from a super speaker is great, and the quirky looks make it a feature in any room.

It comes in 5 different colours, Black, Bordeaux, Slate, Aquamarine, and gloss white.
RRP from Native Union is £119.99

A MASSIVE 10/10 from me, as this is a cracking piece of kit. I am now looking forward to what Native have up their sleeves for the future.....
